What are the Favorite Flowers of Famous Celebrities?

Did you know the flower you like the most typically represents the strongest qualities of your personality? For Women’s History Month, St. Clair Shores’ best florist, Mancuso’s, decided to look at the favorite blooms of some of the women we admire the most and how their favorite flower represents their character.

Mokara Orchid

Angelina Jolie – Orchid

Famous for her exotic looks, grace, and skills as a talented actor and director, Angelina Jolie’s favorite flower is the orchid. The distinctly structural, delicate, and exotic orchid is actually an ornamental plant. Coveted by collectors due to each plant’s unique coloring, the orchid plant can be grown almost anywhere. Symbolizing strength, luxury, love, and beauty, Angelina possessing these same qualities, which is probably why she is drawn to this flower.

Anemones

Anne Hathaway – Anemones

A multitalented actor with numerous awards, it’s not surprising what Anne Hathaway’s favorite flower choice is – the anemone. A wildflower with delicate petals, anemones are vibrantly-colored flowers loved by gardeners and flower designers because they bring such a surprising pop of color wherever you see them. Differently colored anemones have different meanings: red and pink mean forsaken love, white means grace and purity, and purple means protection.

Hydrangea

Katy Perry – Purple and white Hydrangeas

The world-famous singer, Kay Perry, loves the beautiful blooming hydrangea as her favorite flower. With a lush, abundant head flower, the hydrangea shrub is popular in gardens and in many floral arrangements. Katy prefers white and purple hydrangea flowers, and together, these 2 colors symbolize royalty, understanding, purity, grace, and love.

White Roses

Madonna – White Roses

The world-famous singer and celebrity, Madonna, favors the beautiful and pristine white rose. When she’s touring, she makes sure to have a bunch of them waiting for her in her dressing room. White roses have several different meanings, with the most popular being innocence, love, and purity. They also symbolize happiness, peace, and focus. In Greek mythology, the white rose is linked to Adonis, the god of renewal, and rebirth.

Michelle Obama – Hydrangeas and Pink Roses

Michelle Obama, author, lawyer, and former First Lady, is known for her passion, elegance, and dedication to the projects she commits to. It’s no surprise, then, that Michell’s favorite flowers are the hydrangea and rose. Both flower varieties come in a wide array of colors and are loved by floral designers and gardeners across the globe. Symbolizing love and passion, Michelle’s preferred rose color is pink. Hydrangeas represent abundance, gratitude, and heartfelt emotion – traits Michell Obama has in spades.
